Known for her energy, stage presence and expressive performances, Dina Gilbert is the music director and conductor of the Walla Walla Symphony (Washington, USA) as well as the principal conductor of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, with whom she has toured the United States, South America and Europe.
A sought-after guest conductor, she has led numerous Canadian orchestras, including the Toronto Symphony, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the Quebec Symphony Orchestra. Also in high demand in France, Dina has conducted the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre National de Lyon, and toured with the Orchestre National de Metz.
Distinguished by her engaging style, contagious enthusiasm, and ability to connect deeply with audiences, she has premiered over forty works by Canadian composers and shared her Conductor 101 workshop with thousands of children across Canada. After training with Maestro Kent Nagano and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Conductor-in-Residence from 2013 to 2016, Dina Gilbert returns to the OSM as Associate Conductor. In addition to leading numerous OSM concerts throughout the 2025-2026 season, she will soon make her debut with the Orchestre national d'Île-de-France, notably in concerts at the Philharmonie de Paris and the Opéra national de Bordeaux with Don Quichotte. She will also perform with the Berkeley Symphony and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.
