Kompani Giraff
Kompani Giraff creates inventive, visually sublime circus performances that combine technical brilliance with poetic magic. They bring together contemporary circus, magic and movement in a scenic universe unlike anything else - often wordless, and therefore accessible to a wide audience regardless of language. Drawing on their different backgrounds in the performing arts, they explore new ground in contemporary circus and create truly interdisciplinary works of art. At the heart of our work is a child’s perspective - a belief in young people’s capacity to engage with both complex themes and abstract expression. Through the meeting of playful seriousness and a respectful, curious approach, they seek to spark recognition, empathy and imagination.
Axel Adlercreutz, Viktoria Dalborg and Sus Soddu
Kompani Giraff brings together three artists with complementary backgrounds. Axel Adlercreutz is a magician, three-time Swedish champion and winner of the Nordic Grand Prix in Magic—one of the leading figures in new magic in Europe. Viktoria Dalborg is a director trained in physical theatre and circus arts, whose work with Suzanne Osten at Unga Klara has forged a conviction: the child's perspective must remain at the heart of the creative process. Sus Soddu is a costume and set designer, trained in fashion design, whose work oscillates between the functional and the absurd.
