Burn Baby, Burn

Côté Danse

Fire as the central theme, the climate crisis as the starting point. Guillaume Côté brings together nine performers in an intense dance—at times joyful and carefree, at other times driven by a relentless crescendo—an invitation to embrace the present with all one’s might.

Have we reached the tipping point? That is the question Guillaume Côté poses in this work, which places climate change at the heart of a physical and virtuosic performance. Fire, with its passion and intensity, is a double-edged sword: capable of both consuming and spurring action. *Burn Baby, Burn* explores this ambivalence with power and precision, oscillating between urgency and celebration, between the beauty of the flame and the vertigo of what it threatens.

Set to an original composition by Amos Ben-Tal (OFFProjects), nine high-caliber dancers embody this double-edged energy through movement that draws equally from contemporary ballet and physical improvisation. The sequences flow in a rhythm of tension and release, of passion and precision, of shared virtuosity.

The work has been presented in Canada, Asia, and Europe, and continues to tour actively. A performance that combines contemporary themes, accessibility for all audiences, and immediate visual impact.
