Jossua Satinée & Stacey Désilier

Natives of Montreal, Jossua Satinée and Stacey Désilier have developed a choreographic practice at the crossroads of urban cultures, personal archives, and research on diasporic legacies. Coming from a hip-hop background, they met at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, where their close collaboration was born.

Nicknamed the "Twins in Black," they cultivate a sibling relationship that nourishes their shared artistic language, attentive to Afro-descendant heritage, memory, and rendered invisible narratives. Their approach is rooted in a dehierarchical view of roles and knowledge: conception, choreography, performance, scenography, and costume are all carried out together, from within, in a logic of self-determination and transmission.
