About the event
Three themes intertwine. First, the game of peek-a-boo, the child's first awakening to absence and return, nourishes their imagination. Then comes the acquisition of words, with the verb "to be" as its anchor, structuring thought and forging identity. Finally, music, inspired by Béla Bartók's Mikrokosmos —both a musical work and a method designed to introduce his son to the piano—becomes the soundtrack to this poetic journey.
Led by Hélène Blackburn and Cai Glover, this creation explores, with both confidence and sensitivity, the construction of self at the intersection of being, appearing, and disappearing, questioning the ephemeral nature of life. Through a mesmerizing dialogue between movement, speech, and sign language, MIKRO / BARTÓK gives form to the invisible and punctuates the space with appearances and metamorphoses, where each gesture reveals the mysterious meaning of becoming.
