V!TAL

Destins Croisés

The urgency of being alive, fully, now: to make life beat right on stage, in all its power, and all its fragility.

On stage, six dancers and two musicians are gripped by a single pulse that never lets them go. Their breath grows shallow, their muscles burn, and the rhythm never lets up. The music seeps under their skin, awakens their flesh, and propels their bodies. On the brink of exhaustion, the movement tips into a trance, allowing sensuality, tenderness, and a visceral need for the other—right there, close by—to surface. Connecting becomes a frantic necessity, as if the touch of another could hold back time and provide, in that instant, the searing proof of being alive.

V!TAL is rooted in a deep conviction: when time is running out, every gesture, every breath, every touch takes on inestimable value. The body becomes a passage. The stage, a ritual. A searing vitality then emerges from the collective, for it is through contact with the group that the individual reveals themselves, without ever fading into the background.

Performed live by two musicians, Olivier Cousineau and Olivier Landry-Gagnon, the piece radiates a contagious and generous energy through an interplay of bodies and sounds that belongs to everyone.
