Sans quoi nous crèverons

Compagnie Virginie Brunelle

Five performers, a fractured humanity, physical exertion that becomes a form of expression. Virginie Brunelle creates a theatrical bulwark against dehumanization—a passionate fight for love and solidarity set to an original composition by Laurier Rajotte.

Following Fables, in which she explored women’s struggles, Virginie Brunelle now tackles the themes of chaos and dehumanization by creating a stage space where unity becomes a saving counterbalance. With its sudden bursts of energy and dazzling momentum, the dance examines a fractured humanity with clinical precision and raw sensitivity.

On stage, five performers embody a collective force: physical exertion becomes a language, and every breath, every muscle twitch weaves into a human and sensitive tapestry. The choreography reveals the deep bond between the performers; their mutual endurance is both a prerequisite and a metaphor. Supported by an ingenious score by Laurier Rajotte, the work resonates as a liberating cry against alienation and the slow erosion of our human condition.
