XXVII
RUBBERBAND
Twelve performers and a rapidly evolving language. With XXVII, Victor Quijada presents a work driven by the raw energy of hip-hop, the precision of ballet, and the freedom of contemporary dance, inspired by the unpredictable behavior of ferromagnetic liquids.

With XXVII, Victor Quijada envisions a work where the intensity of movement co-exists with the pleasure of letting ourselves be swept away. On stage, twelve performers bring to life a richly layered choreography shaped by encounters, contrasts, and transformations. The result of 25 years of research, the RUBBERBAND Method reaches a level of maturity that allows the performers to combine virtuosity, freedom, and presence with remarkable fluidity.
Drawing from everyday gestures, tics, urban reflexes, and syncopated rhythms, the work transforms individualities into a single collective body driven by a shared pulse. Movement travels from one performer to another, expanding, shifting direction, and recomposing itself to reveal a world that is at once physical, organic, and deeply human.
With XXVII, Quijada offers a generous, vibrant, and unifying experience in a large-scale work that draws equally on the power of movement and what it can awaken in us: pleasure, wonder, emotion, and the simple sensation of letting ourselves be swept away.
