Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke
Founded in 1973, Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke places dramaturgy and words at the heart of its approach, while providing multidisciplinary teams with the creative conditions to explore the dialogue between musical, visual, and physical languages. The company develops hybrid forms that break down barriers between artistic practices, inviting its audience to immerse themselves in worlds that spark the imagination, where each audience member retains complete freedom of interpretation.
Rooted in the Estrie region, Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke showcases the talent of artists in its community while expanding collaborations with international companies, particularly in France. Since its founding, it has created more than 90 productions in French and English, presented in Quebec, Canada, the United States, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Scotland, South Korea, and South America.
Erika Tremblay-Roy
Trained at the Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe Theater School, Érika Tremblay-Roy works as a playwright and director, with a particular focus on theater for young audiences. Her play Autopsie d'une napkin earned her the 2012 Louise-LaHaye Prize from the Fondation du Centre des auteurs dramatiques. With Petite vérité inventée, premiered in 2013 by Théâtre Bouches Décousues, she was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Awards of Canada.
Her collaboration with La Parenthèse and Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke gave rise to two major Franco-Quebec co-productions. Lettre pour Éléna (2016) earned her the LOJIQ Award: Francophonie and the CALQ Award for Work of the Year in the Estrie region. Le problème avec le rose, the duo’s second co-production, has been performed in over 300 shows worldwide and earned her the Louise-LaHaye Award for a second time in 2020. Their third joint production, Va falloir toujours toujours (2025), is currently on tour in Quebec, France, and Canada.
