Sous la feuille

A collective born from the artistic collaboration between dancer and choreographer Ariane Voineau and musician and composer Josué Beaucage. Together, they have created an introduction to the performing arts for children 18 months and older, presented in Quebec, Canada, and France since 2019.

Their approach is based on a deliberate economy of means: few words, many images, an intimate and adaptable stage setup, and a direct connection with the children and their families. Sous la feuille stands out as one of the few performances of high artistic quality designed specifically for the 18-month-to-3-year-old age group.

Ariane Voineau & Josué Beaucage

Originally from Brittany, Ariane Voineau trained at the Conservatoires Nationaux in Nantes and Angers, and later at the Ballet Junior de Genève. Based in Quebec City since 2008, she has developed her career as a dancer working with choreographers on the Quebec City dance scene, including Manon Oligny and Geneviève Robitaille, and also serves as an artistic advisor and rehearsal director for several companies. In 2025, she received the “Fait à Québec” award as part of the Montreal Dance Awards, in recognition of her commitment to the development of the capital’s dance scene.

Josué Beaucage is a composer, director, videographer, and writer. As the lead composer for the group Who Are You, he creates soundtracks for theater, dance, and film from his studio in Quebec City. His compositions for *Sous la feuille*—including original songs, ambient sounds, and musical textures—are designed for very young listeners with a focus on both musicality and child development.
